"National Surveyors Week" is celebrated annually during the third week of March. This period was established by the 110th U.S. Congress, 2nd session on September 24, 2008 by the passage of Concurrent Resolution H. CON. RES. 223. In so doing, the Congress called upon the people of the United States to observe, celebrate, and "pay tribute to professional land surveyors for their contribution to society". They also invited the citizenry to"look back at the historic contributions of surveying and look ahead to the new technologies which are constantly modernizing this honored and learned profession." To down load the full resolution, click here: H. CON. RES. 223 On February 26, 2013 National Society of Professional Land Surveyors (NSPS) Executive Director, Mr. Curtis W. Summner, LS sent request to President Obama for a National Surveyors Week Proclamation. Download the letter here. On March 18, 2013 it was resolved by Senate Resolution No. 12 of the Senate of the State of California, That the Senate recognizes the week of March 17 through March 23, 2013, as National Surveyors Week |

Ardenwood Historic Farm -- It's harvest time on the farm! Bring your family and join your friends for some down home country fun. Lend a hand in harvesting the indian corn and popcorn that was planted last April, and help fill the corncribs. You will even gt to take home some of our colorful corn for your holiday table. There are also walnuts to hull, dyer to press and old-time music and crafts. The blacksmith will be forging; the horse-drawn train will be running and the historic Patterson House for tours. The MOUNT DIABLO SURVEYORS HISTORICAL SOCIETY will be hosting a booth and display of antique surveying equipment and maps next to the Patterson House (No. 9 on the map) between the tennis courts (No. 14) and the gazebo (No. 15).
