In
Memory
James (Jim) S. Kor
-July 05, 2007
It is with
tremendous sadness that I must announce the departure of a great and legendary
person at Towill, Inc. I received news that Jim Kor passed away early this
morning; he had been battling a pulmonary disease. Dennis Curtin and I
are in communication with Pat Kor, Jim’s wife, to express condolences on behalf
of Towill and to offer her any help that she and Jim’s family may need.
Warren McKean, Dawn Johnson, and Randy Smith are contacting colleagues
and professional associations to inform them of the sad news. A funeral
for Jim will be held on Monday, July 9th at 3:00 pm at Moore’s Mission Funeral
Home, 1390 Monument Boulevard, Concord, CA
94520
Towill was in
large part molded by Jim and his legacy will endure at Towill for years to
come. Many of our clients and project team members worked side by side
with him and we have all been touched by his exemplary work ethic and legendary
brilliance. Licensed in 13 states, Jim is an icon in the surveying
profession. Among his many career highlights, Jim received the
prestigious Survey Project of the Year award in 1991 from the National Society
of Professional Surveyors for his key role in the Superconducting Super
Collider Project.
We could never
thank Jim enough for his contributions to Towill as well as the friendship and
support he always provided to friends, colleagues, and protégées. Goodbye Jim,
you will be missed dearly by all.
